Alpha-GPC (L-alpha-glycerylphosphorylcholine, also known as choline alfoscerate) is a natural choline compound found in the brain and in milk . It is a biosynthetic precursor of acetylcholine and rapidly delivers choline to the brain across the blood-brain barrier . As a parasympathomimetic acetylcholine precursor, Alpha-GPC demonstrates significant research value in studies of Alzheimer's disease, dementia, post-seizure cognitive impairment, and stress-induced cognitive decline .
